The future needs foresight now.
But where is this ability to see
in those who consume and consume and consume,
until nature's resources have been depleted,
the monuments of the past have been worn away,
the species of this planet have disappeared?
And where is this ability to see
in those who produce and produce and produce,
bearing and begetting more than two children,
or more than four of their parents' grandchildren,
or more than eight of their grandparents' great-grandchildren?
Is it in the ancient books
ignorant of natural equilibrium
that order them to multiply and dominate?
Is it in the fierce rivals
who use the cannon fodder for their battles
and goad the suicides with their hollow promises?
Is it in the elderly
who so procured the means for their own old age,
since they never saved, or were unable to?
Born of parents that do not plan,
with durability in mind, that is,
hosts of children suffer from malnutrition,
lack the necessities which are sought by too many,
fail to think of things beforehand.
Born of parents that do not plan,
with care and wisdom, that is,
hosts of children get precious little attention,
are not given a good and broad education,
fall prey to nasty indoctrination.
And as soon as they are old enough for sex,
they will not enjoy it with responsibility;
they, in turn, will enjoy it to the full without.
Thus creating, who knows, how many more
generations of family non-planners.
As long as the rest take it lying down.
